I have been searching now for a new everyday foundation for
a while so after some research from the blogger beauty world and asking around
my work colleagues, I settled on the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Perhaps a pricier
option for an everyday foundation but I was keen to try out a high end brand as
a little treat to myself during this long dreary February months.
So whilst waiting around at Gatwick Airport on my way to
Venice, I thought I would pop to the Chanel stand in duty free to pick up this
little pot of joy.
My first impression is the very instagrammable packaging
(Always the first thing to run through a bloggers mind!) exactly what you
expect from brand such a Chanel. A black lid with the iconic two white C’s
stamped on the top brings a smile to my face (am I weird?!).
The actual foundation is runny and light in texture; I guess
this is what makes it ideal for that natural everyday look which I am striving
for. With my first application, I used the beauty blender which in hindsight was
bad idea. The product sunk straight into the blender after one swipe of the
face due to highly watery base. I then decided to move onto my trusty Real
Techniques brush which seemed to be a better job of spreading the product
without wasting too much of a this expensive purchase. However, if I am honest the
best way to apply this would be use your fingers. It seems the best way to
achieve a flawless and natural finish.
The colour match is perfect (I got the 30 Beige) and after
application, I found it gave a very natural finish which basically made my skin
look like I had no makeup on at all which after all is exactly what I wanted to
achieve! One thing I would say is that it does seem to stick to any dry skin
patches so perhaps it’s a foundation better for the summer months rather than
in the winter when I personally seem to get more dry areas around my nose and
chin.
In summary, the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is the perfect
everyday make up choice but I would not recommend if you are looking for a
fuller, heavier coverage. It is extremely light so great for if you just want
to have a light layer of makeup to get rid of any flaws.
Let me know if you have ever used the Chanel Vitalumiere
Aqua and what yours thoughts are on it? Perhaps you have another everyday
foundation favourite? If so please let me know in the comments below.
